Reframing Anger Summit Presentation
Anger as a Messenger, Not a Monster
October 1, 2026 - October 30, 2026
About the Presentation
After diagnosis derails and treatment wraps up, many women find themselves carrying an anger nobody warned them about. Not dramatic. Not explosive. Just a quiet, unnamed weight that positive thinking and gratitude practices never quite reach.
In this talk, Shannon McConnell, certified integrative health coach, published author, and cancer survivor who rebuilt her strength to return to active duty as a firefighter, unpacks why that anger is not a flaw. It is a messenger. And learning to listen to it may be one of the most important things you do for your healing.
You will walk away understanding why suppressing anger has measurable costs to your health and recovery, how to tell the difference between releasing anger and rehearsing it, and three practical strategies for moving the charge through your body safely, without directing it at anyone and without bottling it back down.
This session is for the woman who has been told to let it go, stay positive, or be grateful she survived, and who quietly wonders why she still feels so stuck.

About Shannon McConnell
Shannon McConnell is a breast cancer survivor, mentor, and coach who guides women through the often-overlooked emotional terrain of life after adversity. After undergoing chemo and seven surgeries, Shannon rebuilt her strength and returned to active-duty firefighting—an experience that reshaped how she understands resilience, identity, and suppressed anger. Through her work with smart, capable breast cancer survivors who refuse to let cancer sideline them, Shannon helps women reconnect to their capable selves, regain their mental edge, and return to the careers and lives that light them up. Her work explores the intersection of anger, identity, and empowerment—normalizing anger not as something to silence, but as information that can lead to clarity, boundaries, and renewed self-trust. At the Reframing Anger Summit, Shannon brings both lived experience and professional insight to help women move from fear and suppression toward grounded strength and freedom.
