Reframing Anger Summit Presentation

From Meltdowns to Meaning: Reframing Anger in Children and the Parents Who Love Them

October 1, 2026 - October 30, 2026

About the Presentation

In both our homes and classrooms, anger is often treated as a behavior to stop. But what if it’s actually a signal—pointing to something deeper?

In this session, Kristina Heagh-Avritt draws on over 30 years in education to reframe how we understand emotional outbursts in children and in ourselves. From classroom disruptions to public meltdowns, these moments often reveal a gap between what we intend for our children and what’s happening in reality.

Participants will discover how unmet needs and stress contribute to emotional escalation, and learn a simple shift in how we respond. Each response can be one that reduces conflict, builds connection, and helps children feel supported both at home and at school.

About Kristina Heagh-Avritt

Kristina Heagh-Avritt is the founder of Vibrant Family Education and co-host of the Bringing Education Home podcast. With over 30 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and family development, she helps parents create joyful, values-based learning environments where children thrive in mind, heart, and spirit.

After nearly three decades in traditional classrooms, Kristina witnessed firsthand how overcrowding, rigid policies, and “teach-to-the-test” mandates limited students’ potential. Her turning point came during the pandemic, when she realized her greatest impact came not from teaching students—but from coaching parents to lead their children’s learning with confidence and creativity.

Today, Kristina empowers families to reimagine education at home—blending real-life experiences, hands-on learning, and modern tools with timeless values like compassion, integrity, and curiosity. Her approach honors each child’s unique learning style and helps parents cultivate deeper connection, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
