How to Turn Anger Into Momentum When Motivation Fades
October 1, 2026 - October 30, 2026
About the Presentation
Anger can either trap you in the setback or fuel your comeback.Ian Bowen shows you how to make sure it fuels your comeback. After a life-altering 2009 spinal cord surgery left him paralyzed from the chest down, Ian was told he’d never walk or run again. In this powerful Reframing Anger Summit conversation, the resilience and mindset coach shares how he turned that rage into action, rebuilt his life over 13 years, and used one simple framework to keep moving forward long after the initial adrenaline wore off.
You’ll discover the **R.I.N.S.E.** framework Ian created to transform frustration into forward motion: Remember your past victories, Imagine the outcome you want, Notice your small wins, Shift your mindset, and Expect both difficulty and success.
He also explains why motivation fades, why discipline has to take over, and how to keep going when the goal feels impossibly far away. Ian breaks down the moment anger stops being useful and becomes dangerous, especially when setbacks, uncertainty, or self-doubt start clouding your judgment.
If you’ve ever felt stuck after a sudden setback, overwhelmed by what changed, or frustrated that progress is too slow, this talk gives you a practical way to regain control and build momentum again. This conversation is especially valuable if you’re navigating a major setback, trying to rebuild confidence, or looking for a stronger response to anger than suppression or reaction. The message is simple but powerful: you have been through hard things before, and you can succeed again. Perfect for anyone who needs a reset, a strategy, and a reminder that even in the middle of adversity, you can still choose to expect to win.

About Ian Bowen
In 2009, Ian Bowen‘s life took a dramatic turn when he was diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis. A rare disease that left him needing spinal cord surgery that caused him to be paralyzed from the chest down.
At just 32, with two young children and a promising career, doctors told Ian he would never run again. But instead of accepting defeat, Ian chose to defy medical expectations through sheer willpower, determination, and what he calls Positive Persistence.
His rehabilitation journey was grueling, requiring him to relearn basic tasks like sitting up and standing. With every small victory, Ian's mindset strengthened, leading him to create the RINSE Methodology: Remember, Imagine, Notice, Shift and Expect- a framework he now uses to inspire others to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.
In 2022,Ian achieved what doctors thought impossible—he ran his first of two marathons, a testament to the power of mindset.
Ian's story is not just about survival; it's about thriving despite the odds. His experiences offer hope and inspiration to anyone facing obstacles, proving that with the right mindset, anything is possible.
As the founder of “Positive Persistence” it has become Ian’s mission to teach others how to overcome adversity, rise beyond their challenges, comeback from setbacks and achieve the unthinkable by realizing their potential and developing a Watch Me Mindset.
