About the Presentation
Kids are very hands on intuitive learners. When a concept feels abstract, such as emotional regulation, it can be hard for them to understand. We know that emotional regulation skills are highly correlated with school readiness and academic success, so it's critical that we meet kids where they are at. I will be talking about:- How to make anger concrete, visible, and easy to understand- How to incorporate anger as a normal part of your family's day- An easy hands on activity that you can implement right away

About Author Jenny Mouse
Jenny is the author of a neuroscience series for kids called Brian the Brain, and a mom of thee kids. When Jenny's oldest son started struggling with emotional regulation, she used his passion for science to help him understand his brain, and the roles his emotions play in his daily life. Taking a complex and often abstract concept like emotions, and making it scientific and concrete helped him understand that his feelings were a natural part of his life. To support his learning, Jenny researched neuroscience books written for children, and couldn't find anything at his level. Then Covid 19 happened. Jenny was a teacher and started to notice her students struggling with increased stress. She decided to write and publish her books as an educational tool to help teachers and parents across the country understand the brain. Jenny is a college teacher and a ghostwriters. She realized that change doesn't happen in isolations, and she is using her knowledge to supports others as a writing coach. She is passionate about helping experts in the health and education field fill gaps in our understanding by writing and publishing their thought leadership books.
